but whatever name is used, it is inadequate for this indescribable
something we can only know by experience. It is always a mystery.

We companions of the
Order are those who have been given a glimpse of some kind of deeper dimension
beneath the surface of life and who long for a closer relationship
The immensity of the universal spirit precludes any one individual seeing the whole, except in rare sudden moments of the highest mystical experience when one has a joyful illumination for which no words suffice.
More commonly, each person is moved at different times by particular manifestations. Sometimes spirit will be seen as love found in the gentle kindness of humans. Other times it appears as an ongoing great plan or pattern throughout the whole, vast universe. Often, spirit will be experienced as the breath of life found in all of nature. It can be deep peace, or wholesome fun, or courage or a powerful energy. Some people will be able to talk with a One who is "out there" and also "in here". At times, a door opens into a lighted world existing simultaneously with this one.
And when wonder overwhelms,
nothing is left but the Great Mystery. Every person knows this mystery
in
the many little moments of wonder in life, like the
feeling of awe on viewing a sunset or holding a new-
born child. These moments can be perceived as
spiritual experiences.
Some people are only
slightly aware of a spiritual dimension to life while others who are given
a fuller perception, become so deeply devoted to spirit they make it the
center of their lives. We are among
those who are spiritually centered.
