was founded by Alison Davis,
a longtime Quaker with a Findhorn, Sufi, Integral
Yoga background.
She is a retreat leader and the author of: A Sense of Wonder and Beloved Companions.

The dream of an interfaith third order was conceived in the Assisi
of Saint Francis when Alison was twelve years old. Fifty years of preparation
and maturing were needed for the dream to become a reality. When Alison
finally wrote the plan for the Order, the details poured from her pen
as though they were being dictated. In 1986,
The Universal Third Order was born.
